Zhejiang International Studies University (ZISU) is a public, provincial-level undergraduate institution situated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, under the administration of the Zhejiang Provincial Government Its origins date back to the establishment of the Zhejiang Education Institute in 1955, and it began offering full-time undergraduate programs in 1994. In 2010, it was officially renamed ZISU by the Ministry of Education

The university emphasizes foreign language and cultural studies, offering 35–36 undergraduate programs across 13 departments or schools, spanning disciplines such as languages, literature, economics, management, law, education, science, and the arts . ZISU maintains a strong teaching and research faculty body, with 333 to 545 full-time teachers, including professors, associate professors, and PhD holders.
