With a history of over 90 years, Yangtze Normal University (YZNU) is a full-time regular undergraduate university administered by the Chinese government. It is located in Fuling District, the ancient capital of the Ba Kingdom, in central Chongqing. YZNU enjoys a strong reputation in society and plays an important role in the regional higher education system. The university has made significant contributions to local economic development and social progress.

The university campus covers more than 320 acres, with a built area of over 700,000 square meters. YZNU has 21 schools and departments, offering 56 undergraduate majors across ten disciplines: liberal arts, sciences, pedagogy, law, management, history, economics, engineering, agronomy, and art. The university employs approximately 1,300 professional teachers, including around 600 with senior professional titles and over 500 with doctoral degrees. Currently, YZNU has more than 22,000 full-time students, including about 200 international students from Asia, Europe, and Africa.

YZNU is conveniently located just a 3-minute drive from Fuling North Train Station, offering quick access to major cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Fuzhou, and Chengdu. Additionally, Chongqing’s relatively low cost of living makes studying at YZNU more affordable compared to many other cities in China.

The School of International Education provides a variety of multi-level and distinctive courses designed for international students. These include comprehensive Chinese (elementary, intermediate, and advanced), reading, listening, speaking, writing, as well as China Panorama, Chinese martial arts, painting, calligraphy, and preparation courses for HSK and HSKK. The university emphasizes the development of students’ practical language abilities, and international students have achieved outstanding academic results, with HSK passing rates among the highest in Chongqing.

Each year, YZNU organizes a range of cultural and social activities such as international cultural festivals, talent contests, and New Year celebrations. These events provide opportunities for international and Chinese students to build friendships, share cultures, and develop mutual understanding.
