Wuhan Polytechnic University (WHPU) was established in 1951 in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, historically known as “a thoroughfare to nine provinces”. As a pacesetter in China tocultivate professionals for the grain industry, it has been successively affiliated to such former ministriesof China as the Ministry of Food, the Ministry of Business, and the Ministry of Domestic Trade. Since 1998, WHPU has been implementing an administrative system of joint establishment by the central government and the local government, and mainly in the charge of the people’s government of Hubei Province. In addition to being a university jointly established by the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration and Hubei Provincial People’s Government, WHPU is also a First-class Discipline Construction University of China in Hubei Province, and a First-tier University of Undergraduate Admission in Hubei Province. WHPU’s two campuses are located at Changqing Garden and Jinyinhu, covering a total area of one million square meters; it is comprised of 17 schools(departments), as well as the College of International Education and the College of Continuing Education; WHPU is home to over 22,000 full-time undergraduates and postgraduates. Staying open to the world, WHPU has established partnerships on academic exchanges, talent cultivation and scientific research cooperation with more than 100 universities and research institutes in over a dozen countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy, Australia, Russia, Chile, Japan, South Korea, and India. WHPUhas been promoting its international education, and soundly developing Sino-foreign cooperative programs; it invites world-renowned scientists to Wuhan Forum to give lectures, to build a plat form for international academic exchanges; and responding to China’s “Belt and Road”Initiative, WHPU recruits international students to its undergraduate and postgraduate programs, to contribute to its brand of “Studying Abroad at WHPU”
