About

Ningbo University, founded in 1986 with support from shipping magnate Yue-Kong Pao and endorsed by Deng Xiaoping, is a national “Double First-Class” university in Zhejiang Province. Backed by top institutions like Peking and Fudan Universities, it has grown into a comprehensive research and teaching university with strong government and community support.

The university enrolls over 34,000 students, including undergraduates, postgraduates, and international students, and has a faculty of more than 3,000, including 12 academicians. It offers 59 undergraduate, 32 master’s, and 13 doctoral programs, and ranks among China’s top 100 universities.

Ningbo University is known for its strengths in engineering, medicine, aquaculture, and applied economics, with 14 disciplines ranked in the top 1% of ESI worldwide. It actively promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, and international collaboration with over 100 global partners.

  • A study plan of at least 800-1200 words;
  • Research proposal (at least 3000 words in Chinese or English).
  • Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.

  • Language proficiency certificates: TOEFL≥80, IELTS≥ 6.0 or Duo-lingo English Test ≥ 90; or Medium of Introduction Certificate.
  • Applicants who completed their previous studies in an English-taught program in a non-English-speaking country must submit an official letter from their university stating that the language of instruction was English.”
