Required Application Documents

Copy of Passport & Picture

  • A clear scanned copy of the personal information page of your passport.
  • Passport must be valid at the time of application.

Completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship

  • Submit online via the CSC portal and print a signed copy.

Notarized Highest Diploma/ Certificate

  • Include your most recent graduation certificate (high school, bachelor’s, or master’s).
  • If you’re currently a student, submit a certificate of expected graduation.

Academic Transcripts/Mark-sheet

  • Full academic records of your previous studies (All Previous Degree )
  • Transcripts must be in English or Chinese and notarized.

Study Plan or Research Proposal

  • Write a detailed plan explaining your academic goals, research interests, and why you chose China.
  • Length: Typically 500–800 words (undergraduate/master’s) or 1500+ words (PhD).

Two Recommendation Letters

  • Letters should be written by professors or associate professors from your previous institution.
  • Should be on official letterhead with signature and contact information.

Bank Statement : bank statement showing around USD 3,000–5,000.

Thesis /Publication Paper : (For Masters and PhD Student).

Language Proficiency: Language requirements depend on the medium of instruction:

Programs Taught in Chinese

  • Must have a HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) certificate (usually HSK level 4 or above).

Programs Taught in English

  • If English is not your native language, you may need to provide proof of English proficiency:
  1. TOEFL (usually minimum 80)
  2. IELTS (usually minimum 6.0 or 6.5)

Age Limit:

Undergraduate Programs

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Generally, applicants must be under 25 years old.

Master’s Programs

  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Usually, applicants should be under 35 years old

Doctoral Programs

  • Must hold a master’s degree.
  • Typically, applicants should be under 40 years old.
