About
Chongqing Jiaotong University (CQJTU) was founded in 1951 to support road construction between Sichuan and Tibet and to develop Southwest China. It was originally called the Southwest Transportation Technological Academy and received its current name in 2006.
The university has two campuses—Nan’an and Science City—covering about 200 hectares. It has over 2,200 staff members, including more than 1,500 full-time teachers and 870 with senior titles. Around 30,000 full-time students are enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs across 20 schools in fields such as engineering, science, humanities, law, and management.
CQJTU focuses on “Transportation+” education and has maintained over a 90% for undergraduates for 25 years. It has 3 national research platforms and over 60 research centers at various levels.
The university works with about 100 institutions worldwide and has joint programs with universities in the UK, Australia, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and Benin. It also runs Confucius Institutes in the U.S. and Benin and offers Chinese Government Scholarships to international students.
With the motto “Virtues in Mind & Transport Worldwide,” CQJTU aims to become a well-known global university contributing to transportation, society, and the economy.

- Research proposal (at least 3000 words in Chinese or English).
- Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors.

- Language proficiency certificates: TOEFL≥80, IELTS≥ 6.0 or Duo-lingo English Test ≥ 90; or Medium of Introduction Certificate.
- Applicants who completed their previous studies in an English-taught program in a non-English-speaking country must submit an official letter from their university stating that the language of instruction was English.”

- CSCA(China Scholastic Competency Assessment for Undergraduate Program). The CSCA (China Scholastic Competency Assessment) is mandatory for all international undergraduate applicants All subjects of the CSCA are graded on a 100 point scale. The scores serve as a reference-only basis, with no mandatory score requirements imposed. Instead, each college formulates its own admission criteria for academic performance in respective programs. Therefore, applicants for undergraduate programs must submit the scores of the examination subjects specified by their intended major
