Anhui University of Science and Technology (AUST) is a provincial key university jointly administrated by Anhui Province and the Ministry of Emergency Management, P.R.C.It is supported by the Ministry of Education’s “Education Program of Outstanding Engineers” project and by the National Central and Western University’s Basic Capacity Building Project. AUST has Huainan Campus and Hefei Campus, both having beautiful environment, well furnished dorms and sophisticated teaching equipment. Huainan Campus, covering an area of nearly 530 acres, is located in Huainan City, the famous energy city in China and the birthplace of Chinese tofu, and has very convenient transportation to the major cities in the country; Hefei Campus, covering an area of more than 110 acres, is located in Hefei City, the capital city of Anhui Province, which is the important national scientific research and education base, the modern manufacturing base and the comprehensive transportation hub. Founded in 1945, AUST is the first public university of engineering in Anhui Province. The university now has more than 4500 faculty and staff, including more than 1000 with senior titles including 130 the academicians, national and provincial level talents.

Additionally, over 400 high-level experts and scholars from other universities or institutes are employed as adjunct professors. It has 15 national and provincial teaching and research teams.AUST is composed of 23 Schools and Departments and an affiliated hospital with more than 33,000 full-time undergraduate students and more than 6,500 postgraduate students. The university offers 41 doctoral degree programs, 138 master degree programs and 69 bachelor degree programs including 30 national first-class and characteristic majors. There are 9 peak disciplines of Anhui Province. In the fifth round of national discipline evaluation, Safety Science and Engineering was A-, the only A-class discipline in Anhui Province. It has developed a coordinated system of engineering, science, medicine, management, literature,

economics, law, and art while focusing on engineering, characterized with the disciplines such as safety science and engineering, advanced manufacturing, geology and mining, and blasting. The university has 2 national key laboratories and 47 provincial and ministerial laboratories and engineering research centers. It is the “National college graduates employability training Base”, “the first batch of national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience universities” (Top 50), “the first batch of national innovation and entrepreneurship education reform demonstration universities” (Top 99), “National graduate employment typical experience universities” (Top 50). AUST continuously expands international cooperation and exchanges, and has established long-term and stable international cooperative relations with more than 60 universities and research institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia, Poland, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Singapore, South Korea，Malaysia and other countries. Currently international students from 32 countries are now studying for their doctoral and master’s degrees.
